This complementary program, funded with €300 million, finances specialist digital advisory services so that SMEs not only deploy tools but also know which tools they need, why, and how to integrate them into their business strategy. With more than 20,600 grants awarded for an amount above €283 million, Kit Consulting has become the reference program for strategic digital transformation in Spanish companies.

What is Kit Consulting and how does it differ from Kit Digital?

Kit Consulting is a grant program from the Government of Spain that subsidizes expert digital advisory services for SMEs with 10 to 249 employees. While Kit Digital finances the deployment of technology solutions (software, hardware, cloud services), Kit Consulting funds the upfront strategic advice: digital maturity diagnosis, roadmap definition, technology architecture design and implementation support.

The distinction is critical: Kit Digital gives you the tools; Kit Consulting tells you which ones you need and how to use them. That is why 82% of companies that received Kit Consulting are also Kit Digital beneficiaries. Combining both programs maximizes the return on digital investment.

Program status and regulatory updates in 2026

The Kit Consulting call closed on 31 March 2025 after several deadline extensions. However, as with Kit Digital, Order TDF/38/2026 published in the BOE on 28 January 2026 amended the regulatory framework, removing the program's end date and enabling reallocation of leftover funds and the possibility of new calls.

This means that, although there is no open call at present, the legislation in force allows the administration to reactivate the program when it sees fit. The budget execution rate of 97.5% indicates that remaining funds are limited but still exist. Our recommendation is to keep documentation ready and a digital advisor selected so you can move quickly if a new application window opens.

Segments and amounts: how much your company can obtain

Kit Consulting is structured into three segments. Segment A covers companies with 10 to fewer than 50 employees, with a maximum voucher of €12,000 that allows contracting up to 2 advisory services (€6,000 each). Segment B covers companies with 50 to fewer than 100 employees, with up to €18,000 for a maximum of 3 services. Segment C covers companies with 100 to fewer than 250 employees, with up to €24,000 for a maximum of 4 services.

Each advisory service is worth €6,000 and covers a minimum of 40 hours of expert advice over at least 3 months.

Artificial Intelligence

AI advisory covers identifying opportunities to apply artificial intelligence in the business, assessing readiness for AI adoption, defining a tailored AI strategy and guiding the implementation of first projects. Includes generative AI, predictive analytics, intelligent automation and natural language processing.

Digital Sales

Covers the diagnosis of digital commercial processes, e-commerce strategy, optimization of online sales channels and digital customer experience design. Includes marketplaces, proprietary e-commerce, social selling and sales automation.

Business Strategy and Performance

Covers digital business strategy definition, KPI and metric identification, optimization of digital business models and strategic planning of digital transformation.

Business or Production Processes

Includes process analysis and optimization, automation (RPA, workflow), system integration, and digitalization of supply chains and logistics.

Cybersecurity Basic

Basic cybersecurity advisory covers diagnosis of the current security posture, vulnerability identification, definition of a cybersecurity plan and recommendations for immediate improvement.

Cybersecurity Advanced

Goes further with formal risk analysis, security architecture design, master security plan, evaluation of security providers and preparation for regulatory compliance (GDPR, NIS2).

Cybersecurity: Certification Readiness

This category is especially relevant for companies looking to certify ISO 27001 or align with the ENS (Spanish National Security Framework). Includes preparing the full documentation of the security management system, risk analysis, control definition and support up to the certification audit.
